Bio/Organization Note: Dolores Blanche Blanke was born in Iowa in January 1931. She moved to Colo. Springs, Colo. in 1945. Blanke attended Colo. Springs High School, the Univ. of Colo. and graduated from the Univ. of Denver Law School in 1954. She married Gerald "Jerry" Kopel in 1954 and ran her own law firm until 1957 when her husband graduated from law school. The couple worked together in the firm of Kopel and Kopel. Dolores Kopel has served on the Colorado State Real Estate Commission and the Collection Agency Board. In 1979, she was appointed by the U.S. Department of Justice as the U.S. Bankruptcy Trustee for Colo. and Kan. Kopel resigned in 1986 to return to private practice. She is also active in the Park Hill Action Committee and the Democratic Party. Summary: The collection contains personal papers, photographs, school papers, clippings and correspondence.
