Professional papers, 1935-1991 (box1-3). 2. Personal papers, 1888-1982 (box3). 3. Albums, 1930-1977 (PhotoBox1-22). 4. Negatives, 1930-1980 (PhotoBox23-90, OVPhotoBox1, OVPhotoFF1). 5. Audio-visual, 1947, 1983, n.d. (AVBox1-2).
Bio/Organization Note:	Burnis McCloud was born in Birmingham, Ala. on May 4, 1908. He worked as a dentist and photographer in Denver, Colo. His father was a Baptist minister. Served in the US Army during WWII. Received BA from University of Denver (1950). Member Zion Baptist Church for 50 years. Documented Denver's African American community (late-1940s-1970s). Died on December 4, 1990.
Summary:	Collection contains newspaper clippings; event programs; correspondence; invitations; photo album; American Photography magazine with McCloud prize winning photo; business receipts; accounting books; Pastor's Handbook (1890s) with daguerreotype; stamps from around the world; audio tapes. Photographic materials: Group portraits of Denver (Colo.) African American residents; includes dances, receptions, parades, meetings, picnics, and fashion shows. Includes images of unidentified churches, National Youth Congress (1953), Carver Day Nursery (1960-1966), Colored Women's Clubs, Denver Council of Negro Women, and Denver Federation of Colored Women.
