Summary:
Collection contains publications, reports, newsletters, manuals, financial records, scrapbooks, clippings generated by projects promoted by the State of Colorado and the Works Progress and Work Projects Administrations. Additional materials include research, manuscripts, and stage plays generated by the WPA Writers Project of Colorado. Papers from the Education and Recreation Program include reports and instruction manuals for the international folk festivals for American neighborhoods, handbook classifying Rocky Mt. wildflowers, scrapbooks and scripts for stage plays; Writers' Project material consists of instruction manuals, guidelines and manuscripts on Colorado history, Ute Indian Tribe of Colorado, driving tours of Colorado and ethnic studies. Collection contains descriptions of Works Progress Administration (WPA) projects in Colorado counties; report of WPA accomplishments through December 31, 1939; daily journal of project (WP259) which sought to exterminate rats and mice in Denver, Colo.; photographs and report of WPA emergency flood work in Colorado in 1938.
